Kanye West’s hits — “Stronger,” “Power,” “All of the Lights” — are staples in plenty of pregame playlists. But for Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce? Not so much.
During a media session on Wednesday, February 5, the 35-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end was asked if he had “any Kanye on [his] hype playlist” leading up to the Super Bowl this upcoming Sunday.
Kelce’s response? A swift and direct, “No.” And just like that, he moved on to the next question.

The reporter’s question wasn’t random. The 35-year-old “Cruel Summer” singer and West, 47, have had years of public drama, kicking off at the 2009 MTV VMAs when the rapper crashed Swift’s moment on stage.
“Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time!” West declared, interrupting the pop star as she accepted her first VMA for Best Female Video for “You Belong with Me.”
Their feud escalated in 2016 after West released “Famous,” in which he rapped, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that b***h famous.” The “Jesus Walks” hitmaker claimed Swift approved of the lyric, but she denied it, and his then-wife, Kim Kardashian, later leaked an edited phone call to make it seem like she did. The fallout was brutal, with the Valentines Day actress retreating from the public eye for a year before making her comeback with Reputation in 2017. Years later, the full phone call leaked, showing that she never agreed to the line in question.
The same press conference also saw Kelce being asked about another controversial figure — Donald Trump. When a reporter brought up that the 78-year-old POTUS would be attending the game, Kelce called it “a great honor” before shifting focus back to the Super Bowl.
Swift, meanwhile, has never held back when it comes to Trump. In 2020, she publicly called him out for “stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism.” Four years later, she endorsed Kamala Harris for president — prompting Trump to fire back on Truth Social with, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”
