Adam Brody Kissed His ‘Darling’ Wife Leighton Meester at Critics Choice Awards

On Friday, Adam Brody won best actor in a comedy series for his role in Nobody Wants This at the Critics Choice Awards, and his thoughts seemed to immediately go to his wife, Leighton Meester. As soon as his name was announced, the actor turned to give her a long kiss, as seen in a video shared by the Hollywood Reporter.

Then, during his acceptance speech, Brody thanked Meester, calling her his “darling” wife, and adding, “Thank you for sharing this life with me and this journey with me. Thank you for our family. I love you with all my heart.”

The couple walked the red carpet together, where Brody wore a black Santoni suit over a white button-down shirt. Meester wore a semi-sheer gown by Christian Dior with a long tulle skirt featuring a small train and an asymmetrical neckline. Her hair was in an elegant updo and she wore diamonds in her ears and around her neck.

The couple recently lost their home in the Pacific Palisades fire, which burned down a number of celebrity homes in the popular enclave. That included homes belonging to Billy Crystal, Ricki Lake, Cameron Mathison, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, Paris Hilton, Miles and Keleight Teller, Anna Faris, Cobie Smulders and Taran Killam, John Goodman, and Jennifer Grey.

This was Brody and Meester’s first public outing since their loss. They were last seen at the Golden Globes on January 5, where Brody was also nominated for his role in the popular Netflix series.

At that event, they were asked again about working together on a project. Meester, who starred in the hit show Gossip Girl, mentioned that it “comes up a lot” while being interviewed by Zuri Hall during Live From E!: Golden Globes.

“It’s true,” Brody confirmed. “Almost everything we do, they’re like, ‘Would your husband or wife want to be in this as well?”

He added, “We should come up with something that we want to do together.”
