Atlanta rap star Jeezy files for divorce from TV host Jeannie Mai

Atlanta rap star Jeezy filed for divorce from his wife, TV host Jeannie Mai, on Thursday.

According to Fulton County Superior Court filings, Jeezy (real name Jay Jenkins) is already separated from Mai and has signed a prenuptial agreement for her. Jeezy is seeking joint legal custody of their daughter, who was born early last year.

The couple married in March 2021 at their home in Atlanta amid the pandemic.

Mai hosted the talk show “The Real” for eight seasons until it was canceled last year. The couple met when he visited her show as a guest.

“A few years later, he asked me out,” Mai told Vanity Fair in 2021. “We shared a romantic sushi dinner in Los Angeles and danced salsa all night. Later that night, he asked me if I could imagine spending the rest of my life with him. Crazy enough, but I was able to do it.

Grammy-nominated Jeezy has had nine top 10 albums on the Billboard album chart and several top 10 rap hits, including “Put On” and “Soul Survivor.”
