Serena Williams is weighing in on the bad blood Taylor Swift received from the crowd during Super Bowl LIX.

The 35-year-old pop star was booed by fans at the biggest NFL game of the year on Sunday, February 9. The 14-time Grammy Award winner was at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, in a VIP suite, cheering on her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce as his team faced off against the Philadelphia Eagles.

In a clip of the incident posted on X (formerly Twitter), Swift looked visibly uncomfortable as she shifted her eyes before smiling and seemingly mouthed, “What’s going on?” amid the loud boos.

Williams, 43, also in attendance at the 2025 Super Bowl, took to X on Sunday to express support for the singer-songwriter.

The tennis champion posted, “I love you @taylorswift13 dont listen to those booo!!” The post has 8.9M views at the time of publication.

“We love to see queens supporting queens,” one fan posted on the app, alongside a purple heart emoji.

A second person commented, “She is an outstanding human being filled with love and light. I hope she never changes.”

While some fans appreciated Williams sticking up for the “Fortnight” singer, others disagreed.

“Why not…take it as constructive criticism and do better! What kind of advice is this?” another individual wrote. “You’re an athlete. If you’re booed adjust your public image-learn to pivot and be less biased.”

“Celebrities should listen why they were being booed?” a separate person noted. “There, she could be learning something.”

The 23-time Grand Slam winner was not just a spectator at the sporting event; she also surprised fans and performed alongside Kendrick Lamar during his halftime show.

Williams came out and did the “Crip Walk,” a dance move popularized by the Crips gang in Compton, California. The retired tennis legend appeared onstage when the rapper sang his hit Grammy-winning diss track aimed at Drake, “Not Like Us.”
