Within a few days of its launch, Threads has become quite a popular social media platform. And this can be confirmed by the fact that it has recently surpassed the 100 million user mark.
However, being popular doesn’t mean that it’s free from various bugs and issues.
For instance, we recently covered issues where no sound or audio was present on the videos uploaded to the platform or Threads kept logging out users from their Instagram accounts after signing in.
Now, a new one has surfaced.
Threads ‘Follow requests’ disappearing or missing
According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9), multiple Threads users are facing an issue where ‘Follow requests’ keep disappearing or are missing.
It appears that the problem occurs when one has a large number of Follow requests. Notably, once some of them have been accepted, the remaining requests vanish, causing frustration and confusion.
In addition to this, when users try to search for profiles that have sent the requests, the option to accept or reject them appears for about a second before going away.
Some were able to accept them by quickly tapping the accept button within the limited time frame. However, others were not so lucky.
And, without a doubt, manually approving requests becomes a difficult chore when dealing with a large number of requests.
One of those impacted asserts that hiding a follow request results in its deletion rather than keeping it in a hidden state. They further state that one needs to send a follow request again if it was accidentally hidden.

Some have even tried deleting the app’s data in an attempt to resolve the issue, but to no effect.
Potential workaround
Fortunately, we have come across a workaround that might help solve your problem. It is recommended that you set your profile as private to make ‘Follow requests’ appear again in the activity tab’s top portion.
