There is no doubt that Taylor Swift will be amongst the attendees at Super Bowl LIX this Sunday—but will she be performing? The chances are very slim.
As readers know, the superstar is set to be in the Kansas City Chiefs’ VIP suite supporting the team—particularly beau Travis Kelce. The tight end’s brother, Jason Kelce, confirmed as much, telling People: “Yeah, I think everybody’s coming in. I mean, I don’t want to speak for everybody, but I think obviously, our whole family. I believe, obviously Trav and Taylor, and his family and his friends. I mean, Trav always travels like, full.”
But, Swift will most likely be taking a back seat for the sporting event, leaving the main action to the Chiefs, who will go up against the Philadelphia Eagles at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
During halftime, former Harper’s Bazaar cover star Kendrick Lamar will rise to the stage. And though Lamar and Swift once teamed up for a remix of Swift’s “Bad Blood,” she will not be his surprise guest. Instead, the “Not Like Us” rapper—who recently took home five Grammys for the hit track—will be joined by longtime friend and collaborator SZA (who interviewed him for Bazaar) for the performance.
So, while Swifties shouldn’t get too excited thinking that Swift will somehow perform at the upcoming Super Bowl, there is another thing that could still happen—a proposal. Kelce and Swift have been surrounded by recent rumors that the NFL star will pop the question to the pop star at the big game, and when Kelce was directly asked about it, he had a very coy answer (not no).
