Video footage from last year shows the Jacksonville shooting suspect gaming it up and talking trash at a Bills-sponsored Madden tournament in Buffalo — which he managed to win, despite being a seventh seed.

“I don’t think of myself as a seventh seed,” boasted David Katz aka “Bread” following a 41-7 win over a No. 2 seed.

“I think personally, I’m one of the better players — and I like to let my game prove that,” he said.

Allegedly, 24-year-old Katz embarked on a shooting spree at a Madden tournament in Jacksonville, Florida, last Sunday, prompted by a match defeat.

Footage of the horrifying midday incident, which claimed two lives and injured several others, was live-streamed and later uploaded to YouTube. This mirrors a similar event that took place in Buffalo the previous year.

During that tournament, Katz had journeyed from his residence in Columbia, Maryland, hoping to earn a spot in the Madden Club Series Championship located in Burbank, California. He managed to clinch victory in the Bills Madden Club round, although he was later eliminated in the quarterfinals of the California competition.

Before competing against the Buffalo tournament’s second seed, Katz boasted, “I have a deep understanding of the game.”

“My opponent probably should’ve called his timeouts,” he said confidently after winning. “I took advantage that he didn’t.”

When inquired if he was feeling anxious, Katz responded, “Honestly, I felt like I controlled most of the game… I wasn’t really engaged much in defense.”

Not long after his violent outburst, the young man committed suicide, according to the police.

Fellow gamers informed WJAX-TV that during the two-day Jacksonville tournament, Katz was bested by two separate players.

“He’s a well-recognized contender,” one gamer, who asserted he had triumphed over Katz on Saturday, stated.

“He was here all weekend,” the man noted. “He was wearing sunglasses, he didn’t engage in any conversation. Even after our match… I approached him to shake his hand and to acknowledge the good game, but he just stared at me. He didn’t utter a word.”

According to reports, Katz wore the exact same clothing on both days of the tournament.

“One could deduce that you don’t require a change of clothing if you had already planned to do something of this sort,” another gamer remarked.

Before Katz’s participation on Sunday, the Madden announcers introduced him as a “business-like individual” who “maintains his solitude.”

“You are not going to see much emotion,” an announcer said ominously. “He’s not here to make friends.
