Former Disney Channel star Dan Benson may be saying goodbye to the world of adult entertainment.
Earlier this week, the Wizards of Waverly Place actor announced on a since-deleted TikTok video that he plans to shut down the OnlyFans account he started back in 2022, Just Jared reports.
Years after his Disney show was canceled, Benson gained notoriety again when he started selling adult content after his private photos were leaked online, and he felt helpless to stop it.
But now Benson seems to be regretting this choice.
“I think I’m done. When I made the decision to start an OnlyFans page, I thought I was doing it for the right reasons. I was doing it to support financially my elderly dog that needed a lot of financial help with his medical bills. I was tired of being so poor and feeling like I was being taken advantage of. I don’t know. I think after years of doing this, it’s starting to weigh on me and I’m going to pull away for a while and take some time to reflect,” the 37-year-old adult film star said.
Benson thanked his followers for their support and suggested he may return to acting or try to get a “normal” 9 to 5 job. Despite Wizards of Waverly Place being rebooted with many of the former cast members returning, it’s unlikely this is the acting opportunity Benson is referring to. He has said in the past that he knows he won’t be asked back by the kid-friendly network since Disney probably frowns on the adult content he has spend the last couple of years producing.
“Thank you to everyone who has supported me this whole time,” he said. “I might go back to acting. I might just go and try and get a normal job and disappear. Just be a normal person. I don’t really know. I hope I can remove some of the stuff that is already out there. So if you’re thinking about doing this, just be thoughtful, because I know it’s going to be really hard.”
At the time of publication, Benson’s OnlyFans account was still active, and on February 6 — days after he announced ending his adult film career — he posted a spicy video clip on his X account (formerly Twitter).
