Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) called for President Joe Biden to pull the United States out of NATO, stating that the alliance is “not a reliable partner” and that member nations don’t pay their “fair share” for security, sticking American taxpayers with the bill.
Greene, a frequent critic of the regime’s foreign policy, especially when it comes to the war in Ukraine, made her proposal in an amendment to the 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) on Tuesday while Biden was in Vilnius, Lithuania to attend the NATO summit where, among other things, the membership of the corrupt former Soviet territory into the mutual defense pact was discussed, a move that some contend could spark World War III.
The fiery Georgia Republican read her amendment out loud during a Tuesday House committee hearing, one of several that she submitted in opposition to the ongoing and increasingly costly involvement in NATO’s proxy war on Russia which is being funded at the expense of very serious needs for the money right here at home as the nation continues to crumble under the Biden presidency.

“Amendment number 6 directs the president to withdraw the U.S. from NATO,” Greene said. “My amendment would direct the President withdrawal from NATO. They are not a reliable partner whose defense spending should be paid for by American citizens.”
“For the better part of the last decade, Germany has contributed only around one percent of its GDP to finance NATO obligations while the United States is paying around 4 percent of our GDP to defend NATO countries. The United States has been financing and promising to defend NATO countries for decades and paying more than its fair share,” the congresswoman continued.
“Western European countries could and should be stepping up their financial contributions to ensure the security of NATO; instead they are entirely beholden to Russia and the U.S. taxpayer is expected to foot the bill,” she added.
The conservative lawmaker went on to introduce additional resolutions including bans on sending F-16 fighter jets and long-range missiles to Ukraine which she said will “escalate the proxy war with Russia, which is a nuclear power, rather than implementing diplomatic solutions.”
“Today, I filed six amendments to prohibit sending any additional funding, weapons, ammunition, or other resources to Ukraine until such a time as a diplomatic solution has been reached,” Greene wrote on Twitter. “It’s time our government start putting America First and stop funding endless foreign wars!”

Also on Tuesday, Biden reaffirmed the government’s commitment to NATO.
“The United States is here today to reaffirm our ironclad commitment to NATO, but also to our Ally Lithuania,” he tweeted from Vilnius. “Our partnership goes back a long way. And our commitment to Lithuania, to the Baltics, and to NATO has not wavered.”

“Again, we should not be funding war. We should be pushing for peace,” Greene added.
